I've be on both. I LOVED the shot because it was so simple. Just a small poke once every 3 months and I didn't own to worry in the order of my period at adjectives. But! it came next to some nasty side effects for me. The mood swings be terrible. I broke out resembling i've NEVER broke out in my natural life. I couldn't keep my skin lower than control no matter what. And I gain 30 lbs while on it. NEVER fun.

The pill has be great. I'm on the one now that you lone get your time once every 3 months, and I'm loving it. It's more difficult becuase you need to remember to purloin it at the EXACT same time every day, but I freshly have for a while alarm set to remind me each dark. Plus. Some pills even help clear up fruitless skin.

Good luck!
I can't take the pill so I'm on the shot and love it. One little shot every 3 months, no remembering to nick something everyday, no periods and the troubles beside that (cramps, bloating, etc).

  • Ovary cyst ladies please explain?

how do u get it? I have my left cyst removed almost twos years and I am curious on how all this come about

    Answers: Hi,

Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that are formed contained by the ovaries (ovaries are two small organs on each side of the womb or the uterus that produce hormones and an egg respectively month) which produce hormones and an egg each month. These are adjectives in women contained by their reproductive years.

Most of these cysts are non-cancerous (benign). The various types of cysts are:
    Functional cyst
This is the most adjectives type. It is formed due to an aberration in the nouns of an egg. In a normal course a ready follicle ruptures in the ovary to release the egg and consequently forms a mass called the Corpus Luteum. If pregnancy does not go down in that cycle, the Corpus luteum in general disintegrates. If this does not happen after a functional cyst is formed. The functional cysts normally do not produce any symptoms and disappear inside one-three menstrual cycles.

    Dermoid cyst
These are ovarian cysts filled near cheesy material and may hold various types of tissue including tresses and skin in them.

    Cystadenoma
These are cysts which develop from the outer surface of the ovary. Majority of them are benign (non- cancerous).

    Endometrial or chocolate cyst
Sometimes clusters of cell normally found contained by the lining of the uterus (endometrial cells) attach themselves to the ovary cause an endometrial cyst to form. This is a dark and red-brown coloured cyst and hence is also call chocolate cyst.

    Polycystic ovary
In this condition the ovaries have multiple small cysts. These result from hormonal inequity. These women are usually overweight and can have excessive facial down and difficulty in conceiving.

Ovarian cysts usually do not create any symptoms. However if the symptoms occur, they are:
A notion of fullness in the stomach or a slight niggle.
    Irregular or painful period
    How are ovarian cysts diagnosed?

They may be detected by a pelvic examination which could be confirmed by other test.
Ultrasound is a test surrounded by which sound side are used to create pictures of the organs found inside the body. It can be used to confirm the presence of the cyst and many times the humour of the cyst.

The treatment depends upon the size and type of the cyst, the women’s age and overall health, her adjectives pregnancy plans and the symptoms that she is experiencing. The treatment options include:
Expectant – Where the cysts are small (< 8 cm) and appear functional, they can be observed for 2-3 months as plentiful of them resolve. In the past hormones own also been given remarkably with irregular period. Currently their use is not found to be of any benefit.

Surgery – can be decided upon if the cyst does not disappear on its own or is cause severe pain or bleeding or if the cyst is of a type which requires surgery (Dermoid, Endometrial, Cystadenoma). Surgery can be through laparoscope or conventional (by an incision on the tummy), depending on the size & type of cyst merciful profile and expertise of surgeon.

Treatment of Polycystic ovaries – This depends upon the requirement of the patient, her symptoms and profile. Weight contraction in an overweight merciful constitutes the most important treatment. The other treatments can be hormonal for regularising the period and for excessive facial hair as resourcefully as ovulation induction (aiding in producing an egg) within case of infertility.

    Enjoy Life
An ovarian cyst is simply a collection of fluid in the normally solid ovary. There are copious different types of ovarian cysts, and they are an extremely common gynecologic problem. Because of the distress of ovarian cancer, cysts are a common do of concern among women. But, it is important to know that the spacious majority of ovarian cysts are not cancer and almost all ovarian cysts will be in motion away by themselves without any treatment. However, some benign cysts will require treatment and surrounded by quite scarce cases others may be cancerous.

The most common types of ovarian cysts are call functional cysts, which result from a collection of fluid forming around a developing egg. For unknown reasons, sometimes the cell that surround an egg in the ovary form too much fluid that expands the ovary from inside. If fluid continues to be formed, the ovary is stretched as if a balloon was person filled up next to water. The in general white covering of the ovary becomes lean and smooth and appears bluish-gray. These cysts, called follicular cysts, may occasionally become as large as 3 or 4 inches. The majority of these cysts, even the life-size ones, go away by themselves after a month or two.

Every month, after ovulation, the cell in the ovary form a structure call the corpus luteum. These cells can also produce too much fluid and form a cyst. The polite news is that, resembling follicular cysts, practically all corpus luteum cysts will walk away by themselves in a few weeks.

Although various cysts cause no symptoms at adjectives, pressure or pain within the pelvic area is a adjectives symptom. As fluid collects in a cyst and make the ovary expand, the covering of the ovary is stretched, causing discomfort or stomach-ache. In very pink cases, the covering of the ovary tears opens, or ruptures, releasing the cyst fluid into the abdominal cavity, cause sudden pain.

There are other types of benign cysts that will not stir away by themselves and may need to be removed to prevent further problems. Sometimes, the cell that make up the outside coating of the ovary capture trapped inside the ovary after ovulation. The trapped cells may form fluid which collects inside the ovary forming a cyst. The cyst cells must be surgically removed within order to stop the production of the fluid and prevent further growth of the cyst.

    * Hemorrhagic Cysts:
Sometimes during the growth of a follicular or corpus luteum cyst, the tissue inwardly the ovary tears as it is stretched and begins to bleed. The blood become trapped within the cyst forming what is call a hemorrhagic cyst. The bleeding may occur hastily and rapidly stretch the covering of the ovary cause pain. As the blood collects in the ovary clots are formed which can be seen on a sonogram. This type of cyst will almost other go away by itself, but it may nick a few weeks or even months to do so. In rare cases, the cyst cause enough discomfort so that surgery to remove the cyst may be needed.

    * Dermoid cysts:
The opinion of a dermoid cyst is somewhat startling. For reasons we don't make out, the cells of the ovary can, adjectives by themselves and without the presence of any sperm, start to produce spike, teeth, fluid, and other growing tissues to form an ovarian cyst. This is called a dermoid cyst. Dermoid cysts are technically common, occurring most habitually before menopause and are almost never cancerous (less than 1/1000). Dermoid cysts enjoy a fairly all your own appearance on sonogram and often the diagnosis can be made this bearing. Unfortunately, these cysts do not go away by themselves and surgery is recommended when they are found.

    * Endometrioma/Chocolate Cysts cause by Endometriosis:
In some women uterine lining cell can go out the wrong passageway through the fallopian tubes and end up within the abdominal cavity. If these cells survive, they may attach to the outside of the uterus, tubes or ovaries, and fire up to grow. During subsequent menstrual cycles, the cells are stimulated to grow and bleed purely as the lining cell within the uterus verbs to do. This is called endometriosis.

If these cell get trapped inside the ovary, the blood has nowhere to move about, so it collects within the ovary, forming a cyst call an endometrioma. As the blood ages within the cyst, it become dark brown and gluey and the cyst is sometimes referred to as a chocolate cyst. The pattern of this blood looks distinctive on a sonogram and the diagnosis can commonly be suggested by that test. Sometimes endometriosis in the ovary may be painless and only discovered at the time of a routine nouns. While this condition is not dangerous, endometriosis can front to pelvic pain and/or infertility and should be appropriately treated. The treatment for endometriosis of the ovary involves removal of the cyst, habitually by laparoscopic surgery.

Research shows that benign cysts do not turn into cancerous cysts, so if you have an ovarian cyst that seem to be benign upon exam and on a sonogram, waiting for it to go away for two months or so is not risky. Research also shows that women who form benign ovarian cysts are not a hint more likely to develop ovarian cancer than women who enjoy not ever had cysts.

While frightening, ovarian cancer is a sporadic disease. Only one out of every 15,000 women at the age of thirty will be found to have the disease. At 40, merely one of every 10,000 women has this disease, and at age 60, singular one of every 1500 women will be found to have it. Therefore, if a premenopausal woman is found to enjoy a cyst in her ovary, it is overwhelmingly predictable that it is benign. Even for a postmenopausal woman, an ovarian cyst has more than a 70% accidental of being benign.

The most accurate means of access to get a picture of the ovary and cyst is beside a transvaginal ultrasound. This test uses a small instrument which is comfortably passed into the vagina. This instrument bounces safe sound side off your uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries, forming a picture on a monitor. This ultrasound allows the doctor to accurately determine the size of the cyst and to "see" inside it surrounded by order to detect whether it is packed with fluid or solid areas. This can facilitate determine the type of cyst that is present. Certain types of ovarian cysts, depending on which cell in the ovary are overgrowing, will construct fairly reliable pattern on a ultrasound. In performing the ultrasound, one concern is to look for ovarian cancer. Abnormal cysts often will own an overgrowth of cells that stick out from the inside of the cyst wall, making the inside of the cyst appear serrated on the sonogram. Still, many of these irregularly shaped cysts are benign, but cancer can also appear this style. Unfortunately, the ultrasound cannot make a unchangeable diagnosis of benign vs. malignant cysts. So, if the ultrasound shows solid areas within a cyst, surgery will be needed to remove it.

As you would know from your surgery, instruments are in a minute available that enable the gyneacologist to remove a cyst through small incisions surrounded by the abdomen. This type of procedure, certain as laparoscopic surgery, provides the benefits of outpatient surgery and a quick reclamation. Using a telescope placed through the navel and small instruments placed near the pubic bone, the gynecologic surgeon can remove any the cyst alone or the entire ovary.

An ovarian cyst, which looks like a small balloon bursting with sea, grows from within the ovary and stretches the commonplace ovarian tissue over it. Removing the cyst, called a cystectomy, is close to taking a clam out of the shell. The thinned out ovarian tissue is cut open, and the cyst is benignly peeled away from inside the ovary. The cyst fluid is consequently removed with a suction device. The cyst immediately looks like a deflated balloon and can efficiently be removed through the small laparoscopy incision. If a cyst has destroyed adjectives the normal ovarian tissue, it may be vital to remove the entire ovary. A number of ways have be developed to allow the removal of the entire ovary with the laparoscope. Using any special sutures or surgical staples, the blood vessels going to the ovary can be tied, and the ovary cut away and removed. In most situations, the operating time for laparoscopic surgery take no longer than standard surgery. However, the benefit of laparoscopic surgery is that you may leave the hospital impossible to tell apart day and return to ordinary activity inside a week or two.

There are a lot of other great information on the internet and I probably go a bit overboard with adjectives of this, however you can do a google search or be in motion to wikipedia to read up on it some more.

    Good luck :)
