When I first catch my spell...?

ok, so, I'm almost 14, and maybe I'm getting my period soon. But I don't wanna sit in class and own it pop up out of no where. what are the signs before you get your first time? cramps? what can I do to make it less awkward on my self?

Almost every girl and every mother wonders when this event will take place. Some teenagers/preteens may find it to be an exciting, frightening, intriguing, and/or a drudging time.

A period can look like masses things to many different people. It can show up as one red dot, a long stringy cord of blood, mixed with creamy white discharge and swirls of different colored cords, a blob (clot) that can be the size of a pea and big as kiwi (fruit).

The colors can totally from very bright red which is fresh shedding from your uterus filled with blood and tissue, as the days progress the color can or will start to turn dark & darker, burgundy, brown, and then even black. As blood & scent ages, the color gets dark and the scent can be no scent, a faint odour, to a much more intense & noticeable sour smell.

The period itself can final a few hours up to 7-10 days. Everyone is different and will have their own routine and schedule. Along with the extent, is uterine contractions, cramps. They can be mildly unnoticeable to bedridden discomfort.

How Can I Prepare For My Period To Come?

Then you want to print off a blank calendar for the next few months. You can decorate the calendar so it's not so boring or so it blends into your room, binder, or notebook.

What Do I Record on the Calendar?

You will want to create a allegory of symbols to represent various symptoms that will arise as your body matures and prepares for your period. I usually use colors and three simple symbols ~ circle, square, and triangle.

What Changes Should I Expect?

Emotions ~ Anger, Bawling, Irritable, Mellow, Rage, Sadness, Screaming, Weepy

Physical ~ Larger, Heavier, Taller, Hair Growth within Underarms & Pubic Area, Abdominal & Intestinal Cramps, White Creamy Discharge, Spotting, Mixed Discharge with White/Red Cords/Stringy, Tender Breasts (hurt, irritated, or itchy), Uterine Discharge for Monthly Cycle.

Psychological ~ Self Image, Relationships With Others, Moods, Sexuality and Future Outlook both Emotional & Relational

Each time my daughter had an emotional outburst we record a coloured circle on the calendar. These feelings included anger, rage, & screaming as a red circle, bawling, crying, tearing, & weeping as a blue circle, and impatientience, irritability, nasty & disagree ability as a green circle. They are all symptoms of your hormones and will affect all your relationships and social groups.

to make this unforced....you can't really tell...I was painting adjectives day with a bunch of guys 4 a school play when it happen, I don't know why but I didnt leak through my underwear.

Really, I felt great that day. It's different for every girl, I don`t know wear a pantiliner or something if you think its really close.

cramps, bloating, moodswings, ugh! lol I tend to get a sore back, and I tend to acquire pms 2 weeks b4 it starts 4 a bout 3 days, then thats it til it starts.

The period itself is quite atypical, it can be chunky, smooth, runny, thick, dark red, bright red, you'll be fine.

for cramps, I HIGHLY recomend you get a hot river bottle for night time, and take hot baths, anything hot I find helps.

Well sweetheart, i had my 1st time of year in history class in the 7th grade, age 12. Before that, i be already prepared by having panty liners, and pads next to me. Which you should put in your purse now because ya never know when its gonna pop up, like me i have no symptons the day before or anytime before that. But i did own discharge for awhile before i had my period, on the morning that i started i had cramps, big time, it just felt close to i wanted to sit on the toilet...not a good feeling :(
But signs to look out for:
-Discharge (reddish, brownish, and clear), headache, abdominal pains, ect.
You'll know when you go to use the bathroom, no doubt about that. You a moment ago need to make sure that your prepared, and don't worry..your not gonna be sittin surrounded by class, and blood seeks through your pants, its very street light when your just beginning, sooo be aware, be prepared, and get set, get ready, cuz here it comes. (seriously, by the look of your age, it should be coming soon).
