Could I possibly own a lawsuit?? (GRAPHIC)?
I recently gave birth to a healthy newborn boy born at 37 weeks gestation, I had a lot of complications during my pregnancy, I went into labor at 24 and 34 weeks both times have to be stopped with Brethine injections. Well I went home 2 days later approaching you would normally do. I had a lot of Cramping, almost as if I be still in labor, I told the nurse and she told me it was normal. *I'm a mother of 3 and never have I felt like this when I went home*. I continued to hold these pains for the next week and a half.. I kept calling my OB and he kept upping the dose on my pain meds and calling contained by other types of pain control and kept assuring me it was normal. Well 11 days after have my baby boy I knew things were not run of the mill. I woke up at 7:30am to feed my baby and I had the most excruciating affliction in my lower abdomen that I had never feel in my life when I sat on the point of my bed. I went to stand up and GRAPEFRUIT sized blood clots started pouring out of me. I ran to the bathroom! I put on 6 Overnight maxi pads near in 5 minutes, I was filling them up as in haste as I could get them on. So I called my OB.The nurse on the line told me I probably have over done it and I needed to lay down and elevate my feet. As soon as I did that I started to black out and I was have problems breathing, So I called 911. They came to my house and took my Blood pressure in 3 different positions and adjectives 3 times it was really low. They hooked me up to monitors and oxygen and an IV. I got to the hospital and they got me into a room within the ER. A doctor came in took a look at things and order some blood work ** LIKE I HAVE NOT ALREADY LOST ENOUGH BLOOD** They have me put a gown on and in the process I blacked out from standing and continuously pouring blood. The room looked like a murder crime scene, and the clots were so discouraging my poor nurse had to clean me up and push on my belly to get some of the really big clots to come out. Finally the doctor come back in and said he ordered a Ultrasound. So they took me down for that and then took me rear legs to the ER. About an hour later the Radiologist who read the ultrasounds findings came in and told me they found what appeared to be Fetal remains and a fragmented placenta. He explained to me what this adjectives meant. He had already discussed it with the ER doctor and they get me upstairs to the OB/GYN floor for an emergency D&C. They prepped me for the procedure and then put me under, I woke up in taking back with my mom there and she told me what the OB said he found.. He said there be no FETAL remains.. Just the fragmented placenta. I was released and sent home that day feeling drained, Weak and vastly dizzy. I had to call the ob to make an appointment for a week following for a follow up, I went into that appt and asked my doctor if I could see the Path results, and he told me he was not at liberty to show me them but rest assure here were NO fetal remains... So once again I went home.. I then call the lab at the hospital and order to speak to someone who could give me answers and they were more than inclined and the path test read "FETAL REMAINS & FRAGMENTED PLACENTA" So why is my doctor telling me one entry? And the radiologist and the lab telling me another? I am so confused about it! I mean Hell I could hold died that day! So does anyone think there is a satchel there? And I am NOW ANEMIC from the whole mishap, and I am constantly lightheaded now.
Answers:
perchance you should ask a lawyer if you have a case
2 words: Law suit.
Your doctor is trying to cover his butt that is why he said he is not at liberty to show you the pathology report! That pathology report is part of your medical annals and you have every right to see it and have a copy of it although you may have to payment a small fee for the copy. You should definitely get a copy of the report from the hospital and turn and see a lawyer. Thank God you are okay and not dead! This doctor should have have you come in to the office and examined you and even if they at first thought things were regular, when you called and explained grapefruit sized blood clots and bleeding as heavily as you described they should have called 911 for you. You apparently have had a twin pregnancy and at some point in your pregnancy the one twin died. If the twin had died surrounded by your first trimester I would not think that any fetal remains would have been detected. Since near were fetal remains it suggests that you carried two live twins probably in to your third trimester before the one twin died. This should not own been missed with the technology that we have today. I am not one of those sue-happy society but if this occurred to me I would definitely see a lawyer for a consultation.
OMG I am sooo sorry. The headache I couldnt even imagine. But you should DEFFNITLY CONFRONT YOUR OB about this. WHY DID YOU LIE TO ME? Cuz thats not professional AT ALL.
