Having your length doesn't really determine what you can wear. If you are comfortable in your little dress, wear it.

edit: Sounds close to you aren't comfortable wearing this dress during your period. If you aren't, don't wear it...you will only spend the unbroken day stressed out about it. The dress will be in attendance in a week. Wear it then, when you can delight in it and not worry about makng a mess.

Well anything you feel comfatable wearing.

A tampon may be easier, just bring in sure you're covered up under the dress regardless if you're wearing a pad or a tampon.
