What kindly of tool is used to get something done a colposcopy?
i'm supposed to go in for a colposcopy soon. it's basically a gentle of biopsy. freaks me out a little. i'm told it really doesn't hurt- just feels resembling a cramp. but i'm curious as what kind of tool is used to perform this little procedure. is it a scalpal? or a really tiny little pair of medical scissors? i really enjoy no idea. i think i would feel better have all the information i can get my hands on.
Answers: Um, as dead set against the "RN" that answered above me, a colposcopy involves a speculum inserted into your vagina and a camera that looks very closely at your cervix. I believe the doctor puts a chemical on your cervix to see if there are any abnormal parts. Biopsies can be taken.
It feel uncomfortable but should not hurt. Source(s): Nursing student.
Do i look overweight? beside picture?
The test is performed using an instrument call a "colonoscope." It's like a camera on the end of a long bendable tube. Also at the end of the tube is a short time finger-like protrusion that can grab at the wall of your colon in order to collect biopsy sample.Typically the procedure is done under light sedation, and because of the agents they use most people don't even remember the actual testing. By far, the prep the night before is the worst part of the in one piece ordeal.
Don't worry. You'll be fine. Source(s): I'm an RN.
How lots other women own master* at...
First answer given was the procedure for a colonoscopy. Totally different. Second response is much more accurate. The procedure is not that much different from a pap smear as well as agony is concerned I don't actually remember the tools involved but nothing to scary or it would enjoy had a much more lasting impression. I be very worried prior to the procedure but it was not nearly as bad as I have anticipated.
