Ortho Evra related to "Sun Poisoning"?

I began taking Ortho Evra (the patch) on monday. The following weekend, i spent both days at a water park and the coast. What i thought was a sunburn on my forehead began to swell the subsequent day.

So on monday i had a swollen forehead. Then yesterday, the swelling go down away from my forehead to the bridge of my nose. Today it's in/around my eyes. I found out what i had be "sun poisoning" which i looked up.

I'm Italian with an olive skin tone, so bad reaction to being out in the sun are immensely rare for me and nothing similar to this has happened past. I learned that medications, similar to birth control in addition to lots of sun exposure close to i had this weekend, can cause this.

As for the burn itself, i'm not worried around it. I apply ice and aloe to it every now and later. What i'm wondering is, should i continue taking the patch since i know it's directly related to this weird swelling?

Is this proof that my body is have a negative reaction to the hormones? Or should i stay on the patch and see if i can tolerate it after adjectives and that this is just a freak incident? Has this happened to anyone else on the patch?

Thank You!

Answers:    I am not used to with birth control causing and increase within sensitivity to the sun, that is also not one of the common side effects scheduled on the package insert of Ortho Evra. The swelling that you experienced on your forehead could just be minor to the inflammation with a sunburn and have zilch to do with your new birth control.
I hold olive skin tone and have been on Ortho Evra for give or take a few 8 years with no such skin reaction, nor hold I heard of anyone experiencing this.
If you are not having difficulty breathing or swelling of your mouth and mouth, I would continue taking the patch, stay out of the sun, and use anti-inflammatories (like Motrin) for the swelling on your forehead and see if that help. .
It sounds that if it is caused by the patch, that maybe you do involve to switch! So what I would recomend is seeing your doctor..or if you would rather call the doctors bureau and talk to someone..directly...and sometimes they can orescribe you new pills right over the phone.
