Need information going on for sterilization. Please.
I read the community guidelines but there are so many. I hope I am not violate any. I will try to mind my virtual manners. I want to undergo sterilization. I would have needed it done as soon as I became an adult, but no doctor would consider the surgery on relations who are yet in their teens. I never changed my mind. Now at 47 I don't have need of to worry that I will be told that I am too young, but I hold still come up against powerful bureaucracy. I have sought information from several sources. One nurse from a health-information hot line have been very supportive of my ruling and told me that it is my choice, and if one gyno or doc does not agree, I can go to a different one and there is no requirement contained by NYC that a person undergo psychiatric evaluation first. The first gyno I go to interrogated me about why I would want sterilization. I told her it is a very personal choice and i hold reasons only I would get. I dont want to use the pill. I want a permanent method that I dont need to verbs taking pills or using medications for. And, I know that menopause might only be a few years away, but I enjoy my own reasons for not waiting. No use explaining that here. The gyno did tell me to see a psychiatrist first. I call back the supportive nurse who told me to call Planned Parenthood and another enterprise whichI think was "ABSC." I call both and "ABSC" said that I was given wrong information;they are a research organization. Planned Parenthood said they hold only one place where ancestors are referred to for sterilization. The facility had a lot of red cassette for me to go through and they likely won't transport my insurance. I called my insurance and they said that they would pay if the doctor say the procedure is medically necessary. Planned Parenthood eventually told me that they cannot help me next to this.
My own doc has so far been supportive but if adjectives other specialists he sends me to say that they don 't think it should be done, he may expected tell me to give up.
I don't know how a psychiatrist would in recent times think that I can decide for myelf. Mental form "professionals" can be prejudiced. They think a person who never considered necessary children is abnormal.
Is there any administration that can help me get easier access to this munificent of birth control? I am not worried about the procedure itself. I know it's generally sheltered and only if it s done in a put a bet on alley by unqualified people is it risky.
Answers: A psychiatrist can understand your story and recommend to a gynaecologist that you have no psychiatric problem. The gynecologists may similar to to safeguard themselves from litigation by getting a view from a psychiatrist.
I believe that if it is your genuine will, short being subject to pressure and without have a psychiatric condition whereby you are unable to decide upon things for yourself. consequently your request should be allowed.
I do not know the legal implications.
