How do I stop binge ingestion?

I don't do it all the time, it just comes surrounded by spurts. I'm not overweight, but tend to gain 2 to 5 lbs when I go through a period of binge consumption. It's frustrating because then I have to diet it fund off so it seems similar to I'm in this constant cycle of binge and then diet.

The binging have little to do with being hungry. I could be full to the point of my tummy hurting and I'll STILL do it. It's clearly a physcological problem. Most times my severe pms (possibly PMDD) will trigger a binge. Occasionally it will happen when there's no real cause behind it. I don't want to go to a psychotherapist because for one I'm embarassed and for two I'm tried of being in dream therapy. I was in analysis for 10 years for depression and I finally finished with it all and I really really don't want to walk back.

I'm frustrated because sometimes I have faultless control over this. I have will power and my head is on straight. Then adjectives of a sudden I go nuts and eat and drink even though I don't want to. Has anyone

Yes. Have you tried Over Eaters Anonymous? It's a good program full of support. It's not just for stout people. It has exceedingly little to do with that. It's for people who enjoy an unhealthy relationship with food - which you recognize to having. It's not therapy, exactly, more close to a support group. With your experience in dieting, maybe you can give a hand some people too.

You of late have to fight it. Dont buy the impossible food, and when you get the urge to binge eat in a flash fill up on some healthy food. Try fruit, almonds, dried fruit, or even soy crisps (which are correct and you would swear your eating a potato chip)

Also by fighting it your making yourself stronger. Everytime you administer in your making it easier for yourself to give surrounded by the next time. Fight the urge and it will get easier and easier.

From reading what you wrote it sounds approaching PMS is probably the biggest factor. You should go to your doctor and see if you can get on the YAZ birth control. Its supposed to assistance with most of the side affects while on your period.

And I don`t know when you feel you're about to binge, try drinking some wet first and see if that helps.

well.. I don`t know find the source of why you do it.. like for me, i usually only binge drink if i'm depressed so it's a temporary satisfaction for me.. and it seem that might be your problem too..

I find that if you kept your self occupied during the sunshine when your not working with a hobby of some sort keep your mind off of food.

Eat often, but put away the right food and not much of it at one a sitting.

Try eating half of what you usually drink during the day.

If you can't stop the binge feeling, try binging on robust foods. At least you won't feel too doomed to failure about yourself and you won't gain weight but you'll get hold of that binge feeling out of yourself.

I DONT HAVE AN ANSWER FOR THIS.. I HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. I AM NOT OVER WEIGHT EITHER. I USED TO BE, THE PROBLEM NEVER WENT AWAY ONLY GOT BETTER. TRY EATING SEVERAL SMALL MEALS/ SNACKS IN THE DAY. IF YOU EXERCISE DONT OVER DO IT OR YOUR BODY CAN FEEL TIRED AND MORE LIKELY YOU'LL GET THE CRAVING TO FEED YOUR EMOTIONS INSTEAD OF YOUR STOMACH. Sometimes I find chewing gum help. This stops me from eating late hours of darkness at times. The minty flavor kinda helps destroy what i know other food might partiality like and it keeps me busy.

if you eat a apt breakfast it stops unhealthy snacking during the day by the time lunch comes you will be of late about ready. enjoy a good lunch then and consequently have a nice dinner. instead of fast food hold a nice homecooked meal. just construe to yourself as your eating the homecooked meal. it's better than a bear out. for the 1st week of this have 2 takouts a week for the 1st month or 2 then bring it down 2 1!

There are a few factors at play here:

First of all, I would try to see if in attendance is a particular time of day or a extraordinary circumstance causing it. It may be PMS-related, because your body knows that that upcoming process will use lots of nutrients and gusto. Is it any other time too? Right after you fail an exam, or every time you talk to your ex? Maybe it happen after class, when you've got nothing to do. I would try to isolate the circumstances and see if there's something you can do more or less it.

Also, I might try to redirect your energy. I used to lift naps when I got tired, but I redirect that and went for bike rides instead. The other day, I did 21.5 miles after a full day's work. It doesn't own to be working out, but if you're sitting and watching TV, that makes it really easy to do.

In the suggest time, disassociate your mind... stop thinking about this and do something productive, with the TIME you spend drinking.

Walk around the block...meditate while you're walking. breath the fresh air from your "belly", this is the proper way to breath. Add a short time more to your walk week after week. You will start enjoying your walk..perhaps and add music or put your foot your pet.

Change it up and ride your bike once in awhile... walk beside a friend. eventually..you will have more energy and of late might want to join an exercise class of some sort .. dance, aerobics. who know??
