Thank you x
Answers: I can't give you my opinion on the GI diet because I haven't tried it, however I did lose almost 30 lbs surrounded by 2 months on Atkins...(my version of Atkins rather... I still ate bread but it be whole grain) I recommend www.soulcysters.net. There is a diet part where you can read about other PCOSers experiences next to GI and many other diets. Good luck!.
I was a moment ago diagnosed with PCOS, too. I'd heard something like the GI diet, and that low carb was the way to shift. I went to a nutritionist, to check what they had to extend. She told me to cut back carbs to about 45% of my diet, cut put a bet on on fruits and veggies to only 3 servings of each per year, and up my protein to about 7 oz. a day. She also upped my fat (monounsaturated) to 4 servings a day.
This is because with PCOS, our hormones are out of whack. The extra protein and fat help control the hormones. She also suggested I talk to my dr. more or less Glucophage (metformin), which I will be doing next week.
I've only be doing this a few days, but I already see a difference. My skin is clearing up, and the bloat is mostly gone. I've lost almost 3 pounds already.
It's difficult, but worth it..
Heya,
First of all please dont listen to the two above answers there playing you for a fool so to speak.
You can control you substance the natural weight short any diets ( which dont really work anyway ) here:
http://arthritis.about.com/od/weight/ht/...
I hold never tried the GI diet or known anyone who has but i know it have a very mixed reception so i would stay well clear of that and dance the natural way you will go and get there it just may hold a bit of time. The only diet i know worked for everyone i knew is the connection that i gave you above and its not a diet its the natural style of going about things NO diets needed.
Hope i helped and sorry to hear roughly speaking your diagnosis with PCOS, and i hope you live a long and happy duration
x
