You just hold to remember it when you’re going to have sex. If you forget it, as you would expect it doesn’t work at all. If period are an issue regarding sex, it won't be anymore. The diaphragm holds the blood over darkness. It was my favorite bc method. However similar to the pill, it doesn't protect against std's, or the possibility of getting a disease that will kill you.
