Depends on water temp, mass consumed, speed at which consumed. Maybe the water have a weird smell. I go through this period for around 8 months where the smell of arable farm dressing made me queasy. No good origin; never did figure it out.
For your gf, it may be as simple as the reality that she wasn't able to smell for several days, so very soon some smells are overpowering.
If it doesn't clear up in a week or so, she should see a medical professional.

uh oh, did you find her pregnant? Drinking water on an upset stomache will sometimes create one throw up. Could she be pregnant? Pregnacy makes the sense of smell more pronounced. It also cause nausea. But she may just be getting over the flue.
If she be nausiated today then it could be anything range from residual from having cold related post nasal drip (which does irritate stomach) to have eaten something that did not agree next to her. Only one day I would not be concerned. You did not utter anything about have unprotected sex so relax. i was sick two weeks ago beside a cold and some smells were making me sick lately like when i be pregnant...I even took a pregnancy tests to produce sure.
